Competitor research
Sber and Alfa offered similar services. I interviewed customers using both to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their experiences.
Findings
  • Report storage
Users disliked downloading reports and often lost them on their devices.
  • Minimal input
Employers often only had a prospective employee's passport details.
  • Check speed
Users expected a report within 3-10 minutes.
  • Indicators
Users wanted an immediate, clear summary on screen.
The resulting service
I mapped edge cases with the systems analyst. Together, we found solutions that supported a good user experience and faster development.
Working through constraints
I partnered closely with the frontend developer, who helped support proposals for new functionality.
For example, VTB had previously split a person's full name into three fields; we proposed a single input.
I reviewed detailed legal requirements and presented the reasoning for avoiding unnecessary data masking.
We built on the design system with targeted adaptations. The design system lead agreed to custom components for these specialist services.
Report storage was not initially included. I used research to demonstrate the need; the product manager secured leadership support and extended the timeline.
User flow
I mapped edge cases with the systems analyst. Together, we found solutions that supported a good user experience and faster development.

Entry points
The plan was to launch in the marketplace, then add entry points from other services.
